Liz Lisa Spring 2019 Collection First Impressions
Gingham Cafe
Starting off with a super cute print, the Gingham Cafe print series is just everything I love about Liz Lisa. I mean, how could you not love a stack of fluffy pancakes surrounded by fruit? For some reason, I just have an infinity for food prints (I adored the Sunflower Parfait series awhile back) so I just had to get something from this series. While I adored the One Piece (OP) and still want to purchase it, I ended up only getting the skirt. While the OP and Skirt come in pink, blue, and black, I opted for pink only because it would coordinate better with the pieces I currently have. Otherwise, I would have snagged blue as well and even the black was on my consideration list even though I don't wear much black anymore.
Equally as cute were the accessories released for the series. The hair ribbon is gorgeous as the transparent nature gives it a soft, delicate look. While I personally won't have the need for an earbuds storage case, the design is extremely cute as it features a decadent cupcake.
Shoes
While most of the shoes released so far have been a miss in my book (looking at you, Ankle Ballet Flats), the only hit for me were the Side Lace Up shoes. Liz Lisa does a great job making platform shoes look cute and feel comfortable to wear. The pastel color scheme and small laceup ribbon detail are just lovely! I feel as if all the colors are cute and look great with the style, but I think I'll snag white before it sells out. In meanwhile, let's hope the collection has better shoes coming soon!
Poodle Print
While I find the print itself to be very cute, I'm having a hard time liking any of the pieces released in this series. I feel the cut of the OP would look extremely unflattering on my body, so I gravitate more towards the cut of the skirt. With the pleats and the pockets, it's really beautiful. However, I do wish they continued the pleats onto the backside of the skirt as it's just flat. A continuous box pleat around the whole skirt would look so beautiful!Luckily, the accessories and bag using this print are super cute to make up for the OP! I particularly love the Poodle bag charm as that dog is just so cute. I wish they would make a cute cat one like that (I'd buy it in a heartbeat). I also like the phone case as the ribbon detailing is adorable.
Bags
I have never regretted not buying something immediately until I saw this bag. While the pouches and other bags from the collection are very cute, this is another level of cute. This is just my aesthetic™ and I'm so mad at myself for not buying the pink one before it sold out. Personally, I have a small collection of bags compared to the other pieces of have in my closet, but I really wish I didn't miss out on this one! While I think it also looks as equally cute in white and black, the pink really just calls out to me. Guess it's time to scour Yahoo Auctions Japan until it pops up for double it's retail price...Heart Cushion
If I didn't have a bank account crying from last month's purchases, I would be buying this OP right now. The Heart Cushion series is just an absolutely adorable print that I want lots of in my wardrobe. I prefer the look of the OP over the cut of the skirt, but both are equally as cute! My preference is the white OP as the pink accents make the dress look so lovely.
While I only ever rarely wear earrings and only recently found out I'm a sucker for pearls on Liz Lisa pieces, these earrings just call out to me. I absolutely adore all the pearls and though I don't know if gold would look all that great with my skin tone, I'll probably be putting these in my cart at a later date.
Though there are many more pieces released in the collection so far, these were the ones that I gravitated towards the most. I'm looking forward to more of the collection being released and can't wait to see everyone wearing these cute pieces!
