Review: Somebymi BHA AHA PHA 30 Day Miracle Serum
Trying new skincare products is one of my many hobbies. I find it really fun and interesting to test new products to see if they can help me get closer to my skincare goals. I was never good in my science classes, but I like to consider these as experiments and take plenty of notes so I can share my results.
Starting at the end of April, I tried the ever-popular Somebymi BHA AHA PHA 30 Day Miracle Serum. My goal for the product was to rid my forehead and cheeks of the many closed codomes it has. It is something that most people cannot see, but I can as I'm always looking at my face up-close.

After reading reviews, I purchased the serum on Amazon and received it on April 23rd. As my skin is sensitive, I tested by applying it once a week then increase it to twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I tested the application for a full 30 days and decided to discontinue using it as it wasn't giving my skin the results I was looking for.
It is not the first I tried chemical exfoliants like AHA and BHA. I also regularly use Vitamin C twice a week. However, though the levels of the acids were very low, my face did not fair well with this product. While I inititally believed the outbreak of acne were part of the purging phase, in which your face will purge out acne underneath the surface to reveal new skin afterward, the break out did not subside within the normal time period of a purge phase. Though I could attribute some of that to recent stresses, I believe this serum is not suited for my skin. Whether it is an individual ingredient that irritated it or the acids, my skin continued to get worse. Since using the serum, I also noticed reactions to other products that gave me no issues before, which meant my skin's sensitivity was heightened from using this serum. I will not be using this serum and plan to sell the remaining as I still have 90% of the serum left in the bottle.
