Embrace Beauty Outside the J-Fashion Norms

I am a pale, thin, cis woman into J-Fashion. There are many privileges I have in this community that others do not and I will not speak on the behalf of others. I am the ideal of what people believe that women in J-Fashion look like: long legs, slender body, and pale. You will see tons of Instagram accounts highlighting girls like this and ignoring anyone who doesn't fit that norm.
That is not okay. It is not okay to shame those who don't fit the norms in J-Fashion. It is not okay to silence them and shut down their creativity based on their race, sexual orientation, body shape, or anything else. They are just as beautiful for authentically being themselves.
The amount of offensive comments they receive in comparison to those who have the ideal look is absurd. Seeing comments with racial slurs, body-shaming, and other discriminations on someone's photo is a shame. When you're faced with these comments online and from those in the real world, it can affect how you perceive yourself. I've seen women who receive these awful comments ask why they bother to exist in these communities that vehemetly disregard them as not being "beautiful enough" compared to their paler, skinner counterparts.
Protect those in J-Fashion who look different and bring a new perspective in the community. Protect trans women learning to express themselves for the first time, protect kawaii PoC, protect curvy girls, protect men embracing femininity. Rise them up and use your privileges to highlight them in the community. They deserve more love to counteract the hate they receive in-person and online for being themselves.
Follow some of the many creators pushing the boundaries of J-Fashion that I personally adore:
Runemidgarts
Mahoushani
Milkywayheart
Wrinci
Sweetlullabai
Bunntea
Thedollhousebarbie
ebunnybee
xsakisaki
lovevaani
There are many more people in the community that should be highlighted and celebrated for breaking the norms of J-Fashion than I can include in the list. If you see them, share the love and rise them up.
I am mixed black and white and I have posted and deleted my Liz Lisa outfit photos many times but I have had many comments and DMs calling me too fat for it and alluding to me being too poor or irresponsible to buy it. There is definitely a lot of racism in the Liz Lisa community and people need to stop ignoring it! People will use one breath to say “black people don’t look good in Liz Lisa” then use a second breath to say “But I’m not racist.” People need to understand that Liz Lisa is for everyone and our money is just as good as non-black money! I wish I didn’t have to delete my photos all the time. I have even had to change my screenname to get away from the negativity too!
